Former two-term governor of Kano State and former Defence Minister, known for mass-scale education investment and grassroots organising across northern Nigeria.

Background
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (born 21 October 1956) is a Nigerian politician who served as Governor of Kano State from 1999 to 2003 and again from 2011 to 2015, and as Nigeria's Minister of Defence from 2003 to 2007.
His tenure in Kano is most often remembered for large-scale investment in human capital — including the sponsorship of thousands of Kano students to study abroad — alongside infrastructure, public works, and youth empowerment programmes.
