Peter Gregory Obi

Two-term governor of Anambra State, presidential candidate, and the face of a generational push for competent, accountable leadership in Nigeria.

Peter Obi

Background

Peter Gregory Obi (born 19 July 1961) is a Nigerian politician and businessman who served as Governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014 — a tenure widely credited with disciplined fiscal management, improvements in education and healthcare outcomes, and one of the most stable state administrations of its era.

In 2023 he ran for President of Nigeria and emerged as the candidate of a movement rather than a party machine — the Obidients — energising young Nigerians and the diaspora around a platform of competence, character, capacity, and compassion.

He continues to lead a movement-driven campaign for 2027 anchored on cutting waste in government, prioritising the poor in policy, restoring trust between citizens and the state, and moving Nigeria from consumption to production.

Stand with the movement.
